Dr. John Thie is the founder of one of the most successful complementary health care programs in the world,
Touch for Health. A respected Chiropractor, he was Director of the Thie Chiropractic Clinic in Pasadena,
California. His practice, founded in 1957 from which he has retired, was considered one of the most successful
in the United States in outcomes. Dr. Thie is a graduate of the University of Southern California and the
Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. He did additional graduate work at UCLA.

He and his wife, Carrie, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December 2002 and have three sons and
five grandchildren. He is a past faculty member of the Sports Medicine Department of Pepperdine University,
the Center for Holistic Studies of Antioch University West, as well as the extensions of UC, San Diego, Riverside,
and Valley College. He lectured at dozens of colleges and seminars domestically and internationally, including UC
Berkeley School of Public Health, USC Dental School Acupuncture Study Group, and the Olympic Training Center
in Warsaw, Poland. In 1978, he introduced Touch For Health to medical personnel in Peking, Shanghai, and
Nanking in the Peoples Republic of China. He was founding Chairman of the International College of Applied
Kinesiology and has been a member of the International Examining Board since its founding in 1975.
After Dr. Thie retired from practice, he and Mrs. Thie traveled to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and other
parts of the world, including Japan, China, South America, and Africa, where Dr. Thie followed an extensive
seminar and lecture schedule training professionals, paraprofessionals, and lay people. He was often a
keynote speaker at Kinesiology/TFH Association national and international meetings.
